Portugal vs Spain LIVE: Nations League final match stream, latest score and goal updates
ET 13 mins: Leao is brilliant. He’s turned this game in Portugal’s favour and it seems almost inevitable that a winner will come their way via that partnership between Leao and Nuno Mendes on the left. Mesmerising football from both men
ET 11 mins: There will be no penalty but the scuffles between the players prompted a VAR check for a possible red car. Nah. Handbags at dawn, nothing more
ET 10 mins: Awesome play again from Mendes, razor-sharp in cutting his way through the yellow shirts, then going down under some pressure in the end amid calls for a penalty.
from Mendes, razor-sharp in cutting his way through the yellow shirts, then going down under some pressure in the end amid calls for a penalty.
After those appeals were turned away by referee Sandro Schärer, the two sets of players come to blows. Will VAR take a look? Was there a push in Mendes’ back?
Half-time in extra-time and the teams are still level at 2-2. Yamal is trying to win the game virtually on his own for Spain, while Mikel Merino has had the mother of all stinkers in the middle since coming on.
Portugal are most certainly the better bets to nick a victory in the next 15 minutes. If not, we’ll have penalties.

A battle of the Iberian peninsula will settle the Nations League as Spain and Portugal vie for glory in the final in Munich.
Contrasting semi-finals were nonetheless highly competitive with both Spain and Portugal progressing by a single goal, Lamine Yamal dazzling again as the European champions got the better of France in a nine-goal thriller and old-stager Cristiano Ronaldo popping up with the winner in a tighter affair against Germany. It sets up this incredibly intriguing encounter with silverware on the line and each side looking to secure their second Nations League title, with the defending champions facing the inaugural winners of 2019.
Portugal have endured some ups and downs since that success but Roberto Martinez is starting to find consistency, though he may need his side at their best to contend with Yamal and the array of attacking talent available in the Spanish squad.

Munich’s Allianz Arena will play host to its second major final in as many weeks tonight as Portugal face Spain to decide the Nations League. They have a tough act to follow after Paris Saint-Germain routed Inter Milan in May’s Champions League final, but fireworks are certain as two star-studded squads line up opposite one another.
Eras will collide as Cristiano Ronaldo, considered by many to be the greatest footballer of all time, lines up opposite Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old hotshot already regarded as a Ballon d’Or contender despite his meagre years. He was at the double in the week as La Roja edged past France in a scintillating nine-goal semi-final, though Ronaldo matched his theatrics, scoring the winner in Portugal’s triumph over Germany the day before.
Both Portugal’s Joao Neves and Spain’s Fabian Ruiz will return to the Allianz after becoming European Champions there with PSG just eight days ago, but only one will be able to preserve his trophy-winning form tonight. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Arthur Ferridge.
